Est. Sydney 2008
Our Story.
From a boat on Sydney Harbour to an internationally developed programme of events, experiences and collaborations.
Essential Events Management was founded in Sydney in 2008. The story began on the water, with Shipwrecked boat parties on Sydney Harbour. From there, the format expanded across different settings, concepts and collaborations.
Different formats. Different places. One objective: producing experiences people want to be part of.
The Journey
2008 / Sydney
The Beginning
Essential Events Management is founded in Sydney. The first events are on the water — boat parties on Sydney Harbour that establish the principles guiding everything since.
Shipwrecked
The Format Expands
Shipwrecked develops as a boat event on Sydney Harbour. The format grows — island events, beach parties and club nights extend the EEM programme across different settings.
Australia ↔ UK
Crossing Markets
The EEM programme develops across markets. Activity in Australia and the UK builds the experience of producing events in different contexts and for different audiences.
Gorgeous
Music & Nightlife
Gorgeous develops as a club and nightlife programme — building artist relationships and a music-led approach to programming across Sydney's venues.
MCA / Sydney
Venue & Cultural Programming
A partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia brings EEM into the cultural institution space — producing events at the intersection of art, music and experience.
New Year's Eve
Major Calendar Events
EEM takes on New Year's Eve programming in Sydney — one of the most competitive and logistically complex event formats in the Australian calendar.
International
Beyond Australia
The programme develops internationally. Collaborations, partnerships and productions extend the EEM model beyond Australia into new markets and formats.
Now
The Next Chapter
New experiences are being developed across music, sport, fitness and social formats — building on the experience developed since Sydney in 2008.
The Approach
Different formats. Different places. One objective.
Producing experiences people want to be part of.
Every EEM event starts with the same question: what would make this worth being at? The format, the venue, the music programme, the production — all of it is in service of that answer.
We have produced events on boats, on islands, on beaches, in clubs, in cultural institutions, and on New Year's Eve on Sydney Harbour. The format changes. The standard doesn't.
